Join NAPCAN in celebrating 2010 National Child Protection Week in the Northern Territory. The event will see Honourable Kon Vatskalis, Minister for Children and Families and Minister for Child Protection, Northern Territory Government launch the DVD ‘Take Action for Kids'. There will be the opportunity for guests to enjoy children performing as well as view snippets of the ‘Take Action for Kid's DVD' and hear national and international guest speakers speak on early intervention and prevention of child abuse and neglect in the Northern Territory.

Charlie King, local sports commentator and NAPCAN Children's Champion will MC the event and introduce this year's speakers. The speakers include Fiona Arney, Associate Professor, Head of the Child Protection Research Program, Menzies School of Health Research. Fiona has 14 years research experience in the fields of child and adolescent mental health, parenting, and child protection. She has recently co-edited the book, ‘Working with Vulnerable Families: A Partnership Approach' with Professor Dorothy Scott.

The event is a partnership between the Northern Territory Government, NT Families and Children and NAPCAN and is proudly sponsored by the Darwin Convention Centre.

Ticket price includes: GST,eggs benedict,pastries, fruit platters,tea,coffee and juices. All guests will receive a free copy of the ‘Take Action for Kids' DVD.
